Our Team

Dr. Johnson is the new owner of Chelsea Vision Care and practices as a primary care optometrist. He graduated with distinction from the Michigan College of Optometry in 2014. He practices full-scope optometry, which includes diabetic eye exams, glaucoma evaluation and management, pre and post-operative surgical co-management, and other forms of ocular health evaluations.

While glasses and contact lenses are the staple of his practice, he enjoys educating patients on the health of their eyes to ensure vision is experienced and preserved to the fullest potential.

Dr. Johnson enjoys traveling and golfing with his wife, Sara, whom he met in optometry school. She practices in Adrian as an ocular disease specialist. They also have a new addition to their family: Their daughter, Elle, was born in September of 2020. Dr. Johnson loves attending sporting events, almost any type of candy, and all things golf.

Katie is our office manager. With more than 20 years of experience as an optician, she wears several hats at Chelsea Vision Care. She handles all of the practice financials, verifies insurance benefits, performs diagnostic testing for patients, fits and dispenses glasses, and consults on IT and software management.

Along with all of her responsibilities at the office, Katie has three children at home that keep her busy with school and sports. She is also a lover of history, so she often fills those rare moments of free time reading history books.

Karen is our optical manager. She has over 30 years of optical experience, and when it comes to eyewear, she can do it all. Her expertise and advice on selecting frames and lenses not only has patients looking great but seeing great as well.

Karen loves the lake life and is a Minnesota sports fan. She and her husband love rooting on the Twins, Vikings & Timberwolves. Her husband is also in optical – he’s an account manager with our lab, Walman Optical. Karen has two sons and three granddaughters that she loves dearly.

Patti is the friendly face you’ll see when you walk in the door. She handles all reception responsibilities including check-in and check-out, scheduling, verifying insurance benefits, and much more.

Patti is the mother to one son and in her free time, she enjoys landscape photography.

Michelle started in the optical industry in 2011 behind the scenes making eyeglasses. She has since taken that education and skill to the retail side, expressing her passion by helping patients select the perfect frame with the best lenses for their everyday needs.

When Michelle is not adjusting and fitting you for the perfect eyewear, she enjoys being outdoors, baking and cake decorating. She spends her weekends in the yard with her husband and their 4 dogs, Charlee, Rocket, Goose & Harley.

Kelsey is our ophthalmic technician with over 5 years of experience. She helps with patient flow efficiency in the clinic. She pretests patients prior to their exam with Dr. Johnson, and she plays a vital role in updating patient charts by reviewing medical and ocular history. Should any extra testing become necessary, Kelsey also runs visual fields, takes retinal photos and performs OCT scans.

Outside of the clinic, Kelsey is a wife to her husband Ian and a mother to her two rambunctious boys, Elliot and Liam. She also dabbles a little into the arts like painting and drawing when she finds the time.
